Winter Warmth: Blanket Drive

All of us at Sewa International South Africa recently conducted a blanket drive across our country to do our bit so our fellow countrymen as well as animals won’t have to be unprotected in the cold during winter. We’re glad to inform you that we have successfully distributed 1012 blankets in a month of commencement of the drive having kept a target of a minimum of 1000 blankets.

Beds 4 Sewa

From our case work, it became evident that many households lack basic sleeping arrangements, with children often sleeping on cement floors. In response, during Diwali 2022, Sewa International launched the “Beds 4 Sewa” project, providing 40 beds to various households in need. This initiative aimed to ensure a comfortable and dignified living environment for all.

Blanket and Meal Distribution in JHB

In Johannesburg, as winter temperatures dropped below zero, Sewa International South Africa reached out to the city’s most vulnerable with a blanket and meal distribution drive in Alberton. A total of 100 blankets and 100 freshly cooked meals were distributed to the homeless, providing warmth and comfort during the harsh cold. Additionally, 20 blankets were delivered to Tandanani, a children’s place of safety that cares for young ones rescued from harmful environments. For security reasons, no photographs were taken
