Wellness for All, Care Beyond Boundaries
Health and Well-being
At Sewa International, we are deeply committed to promoting overall health and well-being in the communities we serve. Our holistic approach ensures that every individual experiences physical, mental, and emotional care, paving the way for a healthier, happier future.
Mandela Day Wellness Program
Our Mandela Day Wellness Program at St. Philomena’s Children’s Home was a resounding success. Sewa International SA organized a comprehensive wellness event that focused on holistic health and well-being. During the program, we painted eight rooms to create vibrant, nurturing spaces and provided a day filled with love, care, and engaging activities. Additionally, we had the privilege of serving nutritious and hearty meals at St. Thomas Children’s Home, ensuring every child experienced the warmth and support they deserve.
Health Check-Ups and Eye Tests
As part of our commitment to promoting health and well-being, we arranged thorough health check-ups at our partner facilities. Three optometrists conducted eye tests, successfully identifying five children and one adult in need of glasses. Sewa International SA proudly provided these glasses free of charge, helping to remove barriers to education and everyday life.
Career Talks and Counseling
Empowerment and personal development are integral to our vision of health and well-being. Our program kicked off with a dynamic life coaching session designed to empower the girls, instilling confidence and a sense of self-worth. Additionally, two inspiring guest speakers delivered career talks, sharing their personal journeys and professional growth experiences, and encouraging the girls to explore diverse career paths.
Nutritional Support
Good nutrition is a cornerstone of health and well-being. We distributed a variety of nutritious food items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, to both St. Philomena’s and St. Thomas Children’s Homes. This initiative ensured that the children received balanced meals that support their growth, energy, and overall health.
Physical and Mental Wellness Activities
To further support the health and well-being of the children, we organized interactive physical and mental wellness activities. Engaging sessions included yoga classes and laughter sessions, both designed to promote physical fitness, reduce stress, and boost mental health. These activities not only encouraged a healthy lifestyle but also fostered joy, relaxation, and a sense of community among the participants.

The Hike4Humanity/Ride4Humanity
Join the Adventure4Sewa program and fulfill a personal dream through hikes, cycling, and running—all while supporting charitable causes. The primary goal of Hike4Humanity is to raise funds for crucial community projects, particularly the Sponsor a Child (SAC) program. This program provides essential resources to underprivileged children, empowering them to reach their full potential. By participating in Hike4Humanity, individuals not only challenge themselves physically but also contribute to a meaningful cause. This event fosters a sense of camaraderie and inspires participants to make a positive impact on society.
Sponsor My Steps Initiative: The Sponsor My Steps Initiative under Hike4Humanity/Ride4Humanity exceeded expectations this year. We witnessed phenomenal success this year, generating R206,612.00, a substantial increase from last year’s R139,000. The rise in contributions reflects a growing community of donors and
sponsors who believe in our mission. These funds are dedicated to supporting SAC (Sewa Assistance for Children) and other humanitarian projects.
At Sewa International, our health and well-being initiatives are more than just programs—they are a commitment to nurturing every aspect of an individual’s life. Through our comprehensive efforts, we aim to empower communities to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
